Waiting For Christ’s Return

Revelation 21:4 (KJV)
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
It’s the time of year when many people are thinking about Christmas. They are thinking about what they can get for their children, parents, and for the people that they care about. It is the time of year when we see Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It seems like every store has a deal for you. When people go out it seems like a mad dash to get the best deal. It is a hassle, and you see people everywhere.

But what should Christians focus on. Christians are waiting and anticipating Christ’s return. Christians should not be focus on the gifts that they might receive from family and friends. Jesus makes a promised to all Christians. The New Testament scriptures emphasize this future event. Through faith in Jesus, believers receive forgiveness for their sins. Without Jesus there would be no hope for believers. The apostle Paul calls the Second Coming the "blessed hope" of the church. Jesus promised that those who believe will have a deep friendship with him and with God.

In Matthew 24:36 Jesus tells his disciples, “No one knows about the day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father knows”. Jesus said two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Jesus said watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.

Jesus wants all believers to strengthen and encourage their hearts through faith, hope, and love, which are the "armor" we should put on. We as believers know that God said that He would never leave or forsake us. We can count on His goodness in all situations. God is our protector and our help. We are glad because of him; we trust in his holy name. God watches over and protects people from all evil, ensuring their safety and well-being. The apostle Paul prays that "the God of hope" would fill believers with joy and peace so that they may "abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit".

When Jesus comes back, He will give us rest from everything that has been troubling us. Jesus will take vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel. They will be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.

We will have a restore earth where the lion and the lamb will lie down together, a source of hope and joy for all Christians. If we have a right relationship with God, God heals all our past wounds. God makes things right in the world for us. Again, God said that He would wipe all our tears away.

Are you waiting for Christ’s return? Hallelujah!!
